Balinese Culinary Experience at The Ayodya Resort Bali
Timed to coincide with the month-long 39th Annual Bali Arts Festival (Pesta Kesenian Bali-PKB) that was launched with a grand parade in downtown Denpasar on Saturday, June 10, 2017, The Ayodya Resort Bali at Nusa Dua will host its own 5-week long celebration of local cuisine at the popular Waterfall Restaurant. Drawing from the same rich cultural traditions that inspires the Bali Arts Festival, The Ayodya’s “Balinese Culinary Experience”will run through July 18, 2017.
Open each day at the Waterfall Restaurant from 11:30 am until 9:00 pm, succulent and sometime spicy offerings – many of them unique to the Balinese kitchen will be on offer. On a rotating basis throughout the entire course of the Balinese Culinary Experience, traditional cultural performances from the Island will also be presented in tandem with rare and exotic recipes known only to the Balinese dinner table.
The main thrust of this special culinary event is “interactive” in nature with live cooking demonstrations from stalls where visitors can discuss the ingredients and recipes with the talented chef preparing each delicacy. Food stalls, serving local specialties from Bali’s eight regencies and one municipality of Singaraja, Bangli, Tabanan, Karangasem, Badung, Gianyar, Negara, Klungkung and Denpasar – will present dishes visitors would only otherwise encounter in the course of a prolonged tour of the Island. Each food station will impart individual aromas and tastes emanating from signature dishes drawing on ancient cooking traditions of each region of our paradise island. Soups made from green papaya; vegetable dishes concocted from wild jungle ferns and cooked banana stems; Bali iconic Ayam Betutu; Sate Bali, Nasi Sela and Tipat Kuah – will all be dished up by knowledgeable young professionals eager to share dishes first share taught to them in the Paon (kitchen) of their Balinese mothers.
In the long-standing tradition of the mythical royal palace that inspired those who first built this landmark hotel 25 years ago, those joining the “Balinese Culinary Experience” at The Ayodya Resort Bali will be treated and fed like the honored guests staying at a royal palace.
